We invite you to join a dialogue with Noel Gorelick, Google's Chief Extraterrestrial Observer, on 29 March 2019.Noel will give a brief talk on Google Earth Engine: Planetary scale analysis for societal benefit. He will provide an overview of the Earth Engine platform and how it is being used to address some of society’s biggest challenges. An open discussion will follow. Earth Engine is a data analysis and visualisation platform built on top of Google’s massive computing infrastructure. Hosting a 25PB catalog of satellite and remote sensing data, Earth Engine helps many thousands of users from around the world measure, monitor and map the environment at planetary scale. About the speaker Noel Gorelick has been a software engineer at Google for more than 10 years and is one of the founders of the Earth Engine platform. Prior to Google he worked on six interplanetary spacecraft missions to help explore Mars, Saturn and the Moon. |
