The world must now increasingly confront environmental and climate changes as well as society disintegration problems in decades. Public policy research and practice spheres have been currently endeavored to solutions and scholars from science,technology and innovation (STI) policy studies give substance to a policy framework base upon configuration of socio-technological system. Three frameworks on STI policy evolution could be constructed according to their underpinned innovation model and core targets,which focus on R&D activities,innovation system improvement and socio-technological system transformation respectively. This paper explains each framework and then takes China's National Sustainable Development Agenda Innovation Demonstration Zone as an example to identify a STI policy agenda towards a sustainable development.
