We analyzed the distribution patterns of soil organic carbon and total nitrogen in Vitex negundo-P. tabulaeformis (Y_I),Lespedeza hedysaroides-P. tabulaeformis (Y_(II)) and Spiraea fritschiana-P. tabulaeformis (Y_(III)),to provide basic data for exploring the soil carbon and nitrogen distribution pattern in natural P. tabulaeformis forests in China and provide ecological fragile edge area response to global climate change. The soil organic carbon and total nitrogen of these three forests all decreased with the increase of the profile depth, and the distribution characteristics of soil organic carbon and total nitrogen in the same profile depth within three forests were not the same. By the correlation analysis of the impact factors of surface soil organic carbon partial, soil properties, total nitrogen, carbon nitrogen ratio and soil organic carbon had significant positive correlation, however, bulk density and pH value had significantly negative correlation with the soil organic carbon. For vegetation cover, litter total nitrogen and litter carbon nitrogen ratio and soil organic carbon had significantly positive correlation, and the litter organic carbon had significant negative correlation.
