Abundant and well-preserved plant fossils are collected from the Upper Permian Dalong Formation(marine facies)of Xinmin section,Anshun.Conifers and Taeniopteris take the predominant position in the community, together with some Lycopsida,Sphenopsida,Filices and Pteridospermopsida.Similar to the contemporary flora fauna of North China and Western Europe,it is dominated by Conifers, but the richness and diversity of this fauna is different from that of North China and Western Europe. The difference is possibly caused by the local climate variability. The fossil plants are divided into two communities: the upland community and wetland community.Studying of plant palaeoecology indicates a warming and drying climatic change in the Late Permian in South China.
