In this paper, the temperature, precipitation, the number of days with precipitation, solar radiation, wind speed and other meteorological elements were selected to establish a model to assess the climate suitability of rubber plant in growing season within a time period of 10-12 years. The results showed that:temperature suitability of the first canopy leaf growth period rubber plant in Hainan Island was between 0.82-0.96, and change trend was -0.008-0.034/10a; precipitation suitability degree was between 0.22-0.57, and change trend was -0.023-0.042/10a; sunshine suitability degree was 0.45-0.82, and change trend was -0.060-0.032/10a; wind suitability was between 0.34-0.77, change trend was between-0.033-0.138/10a; climate suitability was between 0.41-0.68, and changes was between -0.006-0.044/10a. In general, the impacts of climate change on the rubber plant during the first canopy leaf growth period in Hainan Island was not significant, the trend of change was relatively negligible.
