【Objective】In order to provide the basic reference for the future population dynamics prediction and integrated control for Drosophila suzukii,this study focused on the growth and development characteristics of D.suzukii under fluctuating temperatures.【Method】D.suzukii population samples was raised in manual climatic box in the lab under five fluctuating temperature conditions,including 14-20,19-25,24-30,26-32 and 29-35 ℃.The differences of the developmental duration of each stage were detected.Then,Performance model was used to fit the growth rates of each stage of D.suzukii.【Result】The whole growth and development stages of D.suzukii could be completed under four fluctuating temperature conditions including 14-20,19-25,24-30 and 26-32 ℃,and developmental durations of each stage were shortened with the increasing temperature.The complete developmental durations of D.suzukii were 33.810.64,16.64 0.34,13.16 0.37 and 12.26 0.69 d,respectively under the above four fluctuating temperatures.However,no pupae could develop into adult under 29-35 ℃ situation.Under the fluctuating temperature conditions,the growth of D.suzukii was in line with Performance nonlinear model.The R2 of egg stage,larval stage and pupa stage fitted by this model was above 0.9000.The predicted initial temperatures for development for egg,larva and pupa were 9.1,10.5 and 12.3 ℃,and the stopping temperatures were 32.2,32.5 and 29.5 ℃.【Conclusion】Under the fluctuating temperature conditions(14-20,19-25,24-30 and 26-32 ℃),the whole growth and development stages of D.suzukii can be completed,but D.suzukii cannot develop to adult under 29-35 ℃.Performance model can describe the effects of fluctuating temperatures on development of D.suzukii.
