英文摘要: Chandra et al. (2018) have conducted seismic hazard and probability assessment of the Kashmir valley by following multifaceted research methodologies that have mainly used the earthquake data from the United States Geological Survey, which ranges from 1902–2017. These data are supplemented by the lithological, geomorphological, geotechnical, hydrogeological and socio-economic datasets. However, the results are conflicting, contradictory, and questionable, because the authors have used scientifically invalid research methods. Therefore, the comment aims to highlight the major concerns with a motivation to offer solutions that could help the authors to refine the science on the earthquake hazards in the region. © 2021, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature B.V.
