英文摘要: The dramatic rise of the Tibetan Plateaus land surface exerts a particular thermal and mechanical force on air flows above and surrounding this highland, which gives rise to many unique weather patterns and climate environments. A case in point is the Asian summer monsoon, the largest monsoonal system on Earth. Apart from its special role in the Asian summer monsoon, the Tibetan Plateau also imposes significant influences on global and regional weather and climate systems. This book unravels several aspects of land-water-atmosphere interaction over the plateau, and describes most recent advances in scientific research and technological developments related to the Tibetan Plateau.
